The This Is A Movement: Collective Imagining initiative has grown out of the TIAM 2022 convening, subsequent gatherings, and processes of intentional reflection. As we’ve examined the inequity that exists in the Jazz/Black American/Creative music scenes, we have felt moved to create an opportunity for the community to come together in a deeper way. We want to create a space for imagining solutions and designing new methods/creative spheres via an intersectional Black Feminist lens. The TIAM: Collective Imagining working groups will allow individuals to come together to discuss the creation of these new methods, spaces and ways forward toward a more equitable Jazz/Black American/Creative music industry.
